Are there any unforgivable sins or mistakes in Islam? By "unforgivable" I mean sins which leave a mark on the person forever and the person cannot accommodate for it. The torment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace.

Based on these verses, no sin is too great for Allah to forgive for the one who repents. This Hadith also clarifies it. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you and I would not mind. So Allah will forgive your sins if your repent sincerely and do good for taking away your sins.

List of Unforgivable Sins in Islam Muslim Must Avoid

However, there is one sin people think is not forgiven, Shirk. The verses above show that ALL sins are forgiven if one repent, but if you commit Major Shirk if one dies while still commiting shirkthen it won't be forgiven. The meaning of the verse is that whoever dies while a Mushrik polytheist Allah will not forgive him and he will surely be punished for this sin, i. As for the person who repents from Shirk whether small Shirk or major, Allah forgives his previous Shirk and accept his repentance.

There is no sin that is unforgivable. But there may be some conditions. As in some sins one just have to ask Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala for forgiveness and in some cases one will have to compensate for the action. As if one hurts someone else, he will have to ask for forgiveness to that person too. If one has defrauded someone, he will have to compensate. With these conditions, every sin is forgivable. All sins can be forgiven except for one. It's called shirk. Every sin you have made can be prayed away and erased by doing many things except this.

It's because this sin is believing that the lord is anyone other than Allah and believing in things other than what Allah says. Other than that, like I said before, the other sins are forgivable but never ever this one and it will permanently doom you to hell.

In this context my question is: Is it allowed to use the term if to describe things in the future or present that would not have happened if certain mistakes were not made? Example: If the hadn't been thrown the computer it wouldn't have broken.

If today is March then three months from now it will be July. If I had carried an umbrella I wouldn't be wet when I meet him two hours from now. My biggest concern and problem is distinguishing when it is shirk or sinfull and when it is permissible? Allah does not love those who are arrogant and boastful, who are themselves stingy or miserly and also urge others to be stingy. Now whosoever turns away should know that Allah is free all needs and All-Praiseworthy.

What you are experiencing at this very moment you find yourself in is what Allah has destined for you because nothing happens unless Allah decrees it to be so. As a believer, you must hold this to be true.

If you don't believe it, you may fall into despair and lose hope because not everything that happens to you is pleasant. Without this firm conviction, you will embrace the belief that you missed out on something that you were entitled to and shed many tears.

And yes, dear reader, this scribe has shed many tears. But what does Allah say? He says: "No misfortune can happen on earth or in your own selves but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence But in the current moment what is taking place in your life, this very second, is Allah's decree.

This thought should also prevent you from being arrogant or boastful. Some people are given more in life than others, and that too is due to Allah's decree.

And this good fortune sometimes causes them to be stingy and entertain the thought that what they own or have achieved is due to their own intelligence or abilities and they become stingy towards those who are less fortunate. This is a grave error.

If you feel superior to someone for any reason, you are failing to properly acknowledge Allah. And whether you acknowledge Him or turn away in disbelief and ingratitude, know that Allah "is free all needs and All-Praiseworthy. Shirk is not an easy thing for everyone Muslims in particular some people take it very literally. I've read a famous quote somewhere and i will try my best to translate it into English in the end to answer your question.

It means your destiny is based on your efforts and struggle. It means, your efforts should be the size of an elephant and the destiny God's will is like a size of an ant. So having said that, we have to do our job and then leave the rest on our destiny God's will.

Magic belongs to a very great sinful act, because magic is one of the deeds of the devil and the one who does it belongs to the pagans. Al Baqarah verse has explained about magic :. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. While Rabb may be used in other contexts, when it is used in a generalized way to cover all or to mean absolute power, it can only mean Allah and none other. Allah had granted Isa AS powers of healing. Certainly not, especially if it was keeping in mind that the power to heal was given to Jesus by Allah. Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother.

I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! Thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave.

And behold! Thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. What about believing in the healing and other powers of Quranic verses? Allah Himself ascribes such power to His verses. For example, its healing powers are mentioned in, When in distress, Allah advises us to remember Him and recite His praises excessively.

Allah has given such power to His remembrance, prayer, excessive praises and recitation of His word in the Quran.

Allah Himself advises us to put in required efforts to achieve results. See for example, verse To blindly put faith in Allah without making required efforts is stupidity and to believe in miracles is also stupidity. What about sovereignty of rulers and those in authority? Allah Himself swears by many of the glorious physical phenomena and properties of His creation. We are therefore certain based on the authority of Allah Himself that His laws will always behave in a predictable manner.

What about the prophets? Were they not partners of Allah in their prophetic mission? It is important to keep in mind the distinction. In several verses of the Quran, we find the prophets pray for the people and for their forgiveness for example.

The angels also pray for the forgiveness of people We must however keep in mind that even the prophets and the angels do not have any power to get anything on our behalf from Allah and they can only pray for us. Even the Prophet can intercede only on behalf of those people alone for whom Allah decides to grant intercession. That is a matter between the other people and Allah and not our concern except to guide those who are willing to listen to us.Mu ' meneen Brothers and Sisters.

What is the true meaning of shirk and what are its types?

Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody! Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7. We were with Masruq at the house of Yasar bin Numair. Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, "I heard 'Abdullah saying that he heard the Prophet saws saying"The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4. I heard the Messenger of Allah saws saying; "Angels of Mercy do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature a human being or an animal.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3. My sustenance is from my manual profession and I make these pictures. I heard him saying, 'Whoever makes a picture will be punished by Allah till he puts life in it, and he will never be able to put life in it. Ibn 'Abbas said to him, "What a pity!

If you insist on making picturesI advise you to make pictures of trees and any other unanimated objects. Your Question: How about if you know inside that its not like you are creating it. Allah Subhanah is The Creator, and when one makes an image or a drawing of an animate object, he assumes a part of the exclusive role that belongs to none but Allah Subhanah. The Messenger of Allah saws specifically prohibited the drawing or imaging of portraits or animate objects.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1. I heard Allah's Messenger saws saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. Indeed, as the Messenger of Allah saws stated in the above authentic tradition, the rewards of deeds depend upon the intentions. But when one knowingly breaks a law, intentionally or unintentionally, he will still be held guilty and accountable for breaking the law. For example, if one drives at mph on a 70mph speed limit road, without any intention of speeding, the police officer is not going to accept the drivers excuse that he had absolutely no intention of speeding!

Similarly, every muslim knows that shirk or associating gods with Allah Subhanah is the absolute biggest sin in Islam; and it would be safe to say that no muslim would intentionally commit shirk.

Unfortunately, there are literally millions of muslims who invoke the dead, invoke and worship graves, and invoke some names in the unseen and seek their help, etc.Salam for you.

And indeed Our Messengers came to them with evident Signs. Yet, even after that, the majority from among these people are certainly those who commit excesses in the land. Moreover, many users above have quoted many Hadiths which also verify Murder of an innocent person, doesn't matter he is Muslim or not, is the biggest sin after Shirk.
